I've been struggling to get Copilot to run pre-commit successfully. The issue seems to be during the initialization of the environment. I've tried a number of different ways and prompts, including adding it to the copilot setup instructions, without luck.

Example where putting it in copilot setup steps produced a non-informative error:

precommit run --all-files does fine on a codespace.
